About B-Side Story

Every album has a story.

B-Side Story is an independent weekly publication about albums and the stories of how they were made.

Each week we tell the story of one record. We look for the details that are easy to miss: a studio that was really a country house, a tape machine that ran slow, a cover photo taken in a swimming pool.

We cover records from any decade and any country. Some are famous and some are less known.

Every story ends with its sources. If you find a mistake, tell us and we will correct it.

  1. 01

    One album

Each week we pick one record and write about it in depth.

  2. 02

    Any era, anywhere

Jazz from 1959, nineties rock from England, French house from 2001. If a record has a good story, it can be here.

  3. 03

    The story behind the sound

How each record was made: the studio, the people, the cover and what happened after it came out.
